What's your "go-to" movie? The one you watch when you need to just get away from it all?
Submitted by uncagedbird.
Depending on what kind of time I have:
Loooong time slot available: The LotR trilogy. Also my go-to books.
Littleish time slot available: "Ever After." I love this movie, and having watched it a good.... 3 billion times... I'm still not sick of it :)

Cassandra, from "I Capture the Castle" by Dodie Smith. This is a picture of Romola Garai, who played the character in the film version. Cassandra is the narrator of the book and absolutely wonderful.
And Galadriel from the LotR books. Not just because Cate Blanchett played her in the movie, either (although Cate Blanchett is the definition of beautiful + awesome). Galadriel is an amazing character, and though one of the few women in Tolkien's books, one of the strongest and most admirable.
Show us your favorite writer.
Emily Dickinson makes the list just because I've always been infatuated with her poetry, and she deserves to be on everyone's favorite writers list.
Ayn Rand because her writing is confusing, frustrating, and brilliant.
JK Rowling, because, well... Harry Potter. Need I say more?
Dodie Smith wrote my favorite novel (and, incidentally, one of JK Rowling's favorites as well. That's not why it's my favorite, just for clarification - I was reading this book long before I'd ever heard of Harry Potter) - I Capture the Castle. If you've never read it, you should. If you're wondering where you recognize her name from, she's more commonly known for 101 Dalmatians.
and Tolkien? Lord of The Rings, The Hobbit, The Silmarillion, and recently finished by his son Christopher, The Children of Hurin. Need I say more?
(Notice that there is only one man on this list. That's a Mills list for ya.)
